This is a welcome help in meeting energy bills, but be careful it will soon no longer be possible to request it. The portal to submit your energy check request closes December 31, 2024.

A check sent once a year

Since 2018, this aid has replaced social energy tariffs. It is granted under conditions of resources to the most modest, as explained by the Ministry of the Economy.

In 2024, the showing of the energy check is included between 48 and 277 eurosdepending on income and household composition. It allows you to pay your various energy bills.

This registered check is sent by mail once a year to your home. Shipping takes place in April. It is then valid until March 31 of the year following its issue.

Applications close on December 31

For people who had already received it in previous years, there is nothing to do to receive it again. The automatic sending campaign for the year 2024 ended on April 25.

But for new beneficiaries, you must hurry to submit your application on a portal which closes on December 31, 2024.

But this deadline does not only concern new requests.

Also affected are those who received a 2024 check and whose income has changed: you can have the amount of this check reassessed on the basis of your 2022 income tax declared in 2023.

Several parts to provide

You must go to a digital counter to make your request. It is accessible by clicking here.

All members of the household will have to provide their tax number, their identity document, and an energy bill in the name of the applicant, indicates the ministry.

After studying the file, the beneficiary receives the check within one month.

Supporting documents can also be sent by post using user support. You will need to attach the 2022 income declaration(s), declared in 2023. The check will then be received within two months.
