A few days before December 31, it's time to find out how much interest your regulated savings accounts will earn. It is on the night of New Year's Eve on January 1st that you will know how much your investments are worth thanks to the interest accumulated throughout the year 2024. Here are some answers to help you calculate them.
Booklet A and the LDDS
For the Livret A and the Sustainable and Solidarity Development Livret (LDDS), interest did not change all year and remained at 3%. If you had €1,000 in your account throughout the year, you would have €30 in interest. According to figures from the Banque de France, the people concerned would have saved on average €7,000, which will allow them to receive €210 in annual interest. For those who had deposited €10,000, they will receive €300 (for €15,000 of savings, €450, for €22,950, €688.5).
The popular savings account (LEP)
Even if its rate has declined over the course of 2024, going from 6% to 5% on February 1, then to 4% in August, this booklet still pays off. For example, for €1,000 invested, you will have €47. According to data from the Banque de France, the average investment in this booklet is €6,500. For this savings value, €307.41 in interest is to be expected. For those who have reached the ceiling, i.e. half of the LEP account holders, the interest will be €472.94.
PEL and CEL
Regarding the housing savings plan (PEL) and the housing savings account (CEL), the rates do not change throughout the year. They are subject to the single flat-rate levy (PFU), set at 30%. This year, the PEL rate was set at 2.25%, which amounts to 1.58% in reality. For €1,000 placed on a PEL, you will therefore receive €15.80. In the event of a ceiling, i.e. €61,200, the net interest will be around €966.96.
Finally, the CEL goes from 2% to 1.4% this year. Its ceiling is €5,300, which would amount to €214.20 with net interest.
