Hours after Meta applications, Facebook, Instagram, Threads and WhatsApp, faced a massive outage, ChatGPT was down for thousands on Wednesday. Several users expressed their frustration on social media.
“ChatGPT is currently experiencing a temporary outage After WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram now ChatGPT/OpenAI is down,” one person said on X, platform formerly known as Twitter.
“After WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook now ChatGPT / OpenAI is down,” another one added.
“ChatGPT and Meta are down. Grok still up tho, js,” added one.
Meta’s platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Threads, are experiencing a global outage on Wednesday. The outage began around 1 p.m. ET and has affected users worldwide. Users have reported issues ranging from complete inaccessibility to slow loading times and problems with comments.
Meta has acknowledged the outage, attributing it to a technical issue and assuring users that they are working to resolve it as quickly as possible. They have also apologized for any inconvenience caused.
OpenAI, meanwhile, issued a statement acknowledging the outage.
“We have reports of API calls returning errors, and difficulties logging in to platform.openai.com and ChatGPT. We have identified the issue and are working to roll out a fix,” the company said in a statement.
