Favorite for Matignon, the boss of Modem would not benefit from the deal proposed by the socialists to stabilize a government, which would only apply to a left-wing personality.

Tuesday, December 10 at the Elysée, the left-wing parties once again proposed their “non-censorship agreement” in order to unblock the political situation: in exchange for the commitment of the future Prime Minister not to resort to 49.3 (and therefore to force himself to seek majorities or to accept being put in a minority in the Assembly), the oppositions would promise not to bring him down. Capital clarification from a PS executive this Wednesday from Libé : this proposal only applies in the event that a left-wing person is appointed to Matignon, which the NFP again demanded during the Élysée meeting.

“We are only discussing this hypothesis”confirms our source. Perhaps that was self-evident, but it's better to say it. Because some on the left asked for clarification, the Insoumis Eric Coquerel believing that applying this deal to a “PM” from another camp would amount to “give up blocking a minority policy in the country, in short, be neutralized opponents”. A useful point also because François Bayrou, who seems to be favorite for Matignon and was very pleased with the content of the discussions at the Château, perhaps understood that this agreement could concern him. However, this is not the case, our pink framework further clarifies. Even if Bayrou deprives himself of 49.3, this would not guarantee him non-censorship.

On BFMTV this Wednesday, the boss of the PS, Olivier Faure, also repeated that the Palois “can't” to be the next head of government. As for LFI, they warn and repeat that the boss of Modem would be targeted by a motion of censure upon his appointment, like any other person not from the NFP.
