This series by Ruben Alves (director in 2020 of the film Miss), freely adapted from the Israeli series Johnny & the Knights of the Galileedoes not do it by half measures by offering for the holidays this modern fable where the role of sexual object falls, for once, to men filmed like a calendar of the Gods of the stadium, from every angle.

Alas, the project chooses the path of cheap dramatic comedy without ever allowing us to really believe in this story of childhood friends, Ben, Mathias (Simon Ehrlacher), Ludo (Thibaut Evrard) and Zack (Corentin Fila), who lose their pants to improve their finances, all under the leadership of a 17-year-old girl who suddenly becomes a madam (!). All enhanced by a rather smooth and not always very clear speech on the place of women in society, under the pretext of playing the card of cheap humor at best, awkwardly ambiguous at worst…
Because here the second degree, quite touching, used by director Peter Cattaneo to evoke the Sunday stripper challenge in Full Montyat the cinema in 1997, is transformed here into vulgar puns and gently naughty images without much interest.

Escort Boys at least gives the opportunity to appreciate the slaughter, on autopilot, of Carole Bouquet, Amanda Lear, Kelly Rutherford (ex-Melrose Place, Gossip Girl) or the excellent Rossy de Palma in the roles of clients unlike any other of these somewhat exhibitionist bare-asses. Nice casting then, but no surprises!
For the rest, not much, unfortunately, to get under the retina in this series which resembles a nicely steamy France 3 TV movie, except the buttocks of our main actors led by the friendly Guillaume Labbé, ex- rugby player from Stade français, who, for several years now, has displayed his good looks – and his talent – in a number of TF1-branded fiction films (the series I promise you – or more recently the TV movie Eyes wide closed with Muriel Robin).
