“All avenues are considered”
“All avenues are being considered” in the investigation into the disappearance of Morgane, a 13-year-old Breton schoolgirl who has not given any sign of life for a week, and “none is favored” at this stage, declared Monday the Saint-Brieuc prosecutor, announcing the opening of a judicial investigation.
The teenager who disappeared on November 25 seemed to make excessive use of her phone and social networks and she had confided to a tennis coach as well as a teacher “that she may have been the victim of harassment last year”. The teenager had also argued with her parents the weekend before her disappearance about her use of social networks, and her father had broken her phone and confiscated her SIM card.
Some of Morgane's classmates heard by investigators reported “disturbing comments” from the young girl, who “could be experiencing real discomfort.” They even mentioned “scarifications that she would have inflicted on herself,” said the Saint-Brieuc prosecutor. A crumpled piece of paper was also found by the gendarmes in Morgane's basket “where it was indicated 'dad, mum, sorry, I'm leaving'”.
On social networks, the schoolgirl entered into “relationships with older individuals”. “These people were all interviewed and their homes were searched” but “none of these hearings made it possible to provide relevant information on the location of the teenager,” underlined Nicolas Heitz. A 21-year-old man, resident in Drôme, was notably identified as having created a Snapchat account for Morgane. Several images of a child pornography nature not concerning Morgane were discovered there and the man was placed in police custody for these facts, by the competent public prosecutor's office, said the magistrate.
