“At this stage, all avenues are considered“, indicated Nicolas Heitz the public prosecutor of Saint-Brieuc during a press conference Monday December 2, a week after the disappearance of Morgane Rivoal. The teenager has not given any sign of life since Monday, November 25 while she was going to the Albert-Camus college in Graces.
“Judicial information to search for the causes of the disappearance“, was opened this Monday, said the public prosecutor. For a week, investigators have been exploring all avenues, through hearings, searches, beats but also searches on social networks, added Nicolas Heitz.
A paper with the writing “I’m leaving” found
Social networks which are the cause of the argument between the young teenager and her parents the weekend before the disappearance. The girl's phone was also broken by the father. Parents and family members, interviewed on several occasions, indicate that family disputes were often linked to the use of social networks. In the girl's basket, a crumpled paper with the writing “Dad, mom, sorry I'm leaving'”, was found, said Nicolas Heitz.
The girl's friends were also interviewed. They report “worrying words“, held by Morgane evoking in particular “scarifications“, detailed Nicolas Heitz. Those close to Morgane specified that they had noticed an addiction to the telephone and a certain isolation. Her parents explained to investigators that their daughter had never run away or expressed suicidal desires.
Several people outside the department heard
According to Nicolas Heitz, “Morgane may have been led to enter into relationships with older individuals, some of whom she met on social networks and not all of whom live in the region or department”. They have all been heard but “none of these hearings made it possible to provide relevant information on the location of the teenager“, detailed the prosecutor.
Furthermore, technical exploitation of telephones and computer devices is underway. Several have already been done but others, “extremely long and complex“, will be in the days to come.
“110 auditions have already taken place“, detailed Colonel Stéphane Privat, who commands the Côtes-d'Armor gendarmerie group. They concern “the family circle, Morgane's friends, her classmates and all potential witnesses. A vast neighborhood survey was carried out in recent days in Pabu and Guingamp. Nearly 700 homes were visited in order to collect possible testimonies“, he clarified.
Furthermore, several dozen reports were used by the gendarmes after the publication of the call for witnesses.
A call for citizenship
Stéphane Privat called “to the civic spirit of the population by renewing the call from the gendarmerie and the family to bring to our attention any credible element linked to the disappearance of Morgane. To do this, simply dial 17“. In addition, an email address has been set up: [email protected]
The investigative actions increased with searches of the family home as well as the young girl's relations. In vain for the moment.
