“I lost my sight”. British star Elton John spoke about his state of health on Sunday 1is December 2024, after revealing this summer that he was suffering from an eye infection. The musician was present in London for the premiere of the show The Devil Wears Pradaadaptation of the eponymous successful film by David Frankel, released in 2006, for which he composed the music.
“I was unable to attend many presentations because, as you know, I lost my sight “, declared the 77-year-old singer during the gala organized on Sunday evening. “ So it's hard for me to see him, but I like to hear him, and tonight he sounded good.”he added.
“An extremely slow process”
At the beginning of September, Elton John revealed that he had contracted an eye infection in his right eye during a vacation in the south of France. “left with limited vision in one eye”.
“I am healing, but it is an extremely slow process and it will take some time before sight returns to the affected eye”he then added.
No new musical projects
In November, he told the American channel ABC that he no longer saw anything with his right eye and that his “left eye was not in the best shape”. He also indicated that his health problems prevented him from working on new musical projects.
