It’s a defeat that hurts. On Saturday November 30, 2024, the SR Colmar faced Haguenau in the 8th round of the Coupe de France. A duel on paper which was in favor of the inhabitants of Bas-Rhin, which plays in National 2, while Colmar is a National 3 club.
The Alsatian clash turned in favor of the club d’Haguenau, after a more than disputed opposition.
Looking towards the championship
While they were the last hope of the department, the Colmarians held their own against their opponents for a long time. They even opened the score before half-time, before being equalized at the dawn of the last quarter of an hour.
What followed was the end of the match and a balanced overtime, which led to a penalty shootout that was unbearable in terms of tension.
It was ultimately Haguenau who came out on top.
Colmar is now focused on the championship. Well placed (4th with a game in hand, 6 points behind the leader), they hope to continue at this pace and why not play the climb at the end of the season. They will host Belfortaine next weekend.
