Even if bad weather is not expected, the umbrella and raincoat will often be useful although the rain will be light until Thursday.
Tuesday and Wednesday, temporarily calmer weather but very foggy
Tuesday, The disturbance from the day before lingers in the east giving a little light rain in the morning and a few flakes above 1000 meters, while a new rain wave linked to a depression coming down from Ireland approaches the Breton tip in the afternoon. In between, you have calmer weather, but cloudy, often foggy and a little cooler than this Monday. Sun and wind reign in the southeast.
On Wednesday, atmospheric pressure rises over the country with the establishment of calm weather. But this will mean lots of fog and low clouds. A small southeast quarter, including the Alps, will have sun at the cost of wind. A little instability could develop in Corsica. To the southwest, the Pyrenees will be in full sun above the fog. It will be quite cool in the morning, but rather mild for the season in the afternoon.
Thursday, further deterioration in the northwest
The north-west quarter is affected by a new disturbance which sets in in the morning. It very quickly invades the west and north of the territory. Fairly cool, foggy but dry weather persists in the east. The sun remains in the southeast.
Friday, rain and wind
The previous day's disturbance crosses most of the country, with rain followed by variable weather in the afternoon. The edges of the Mediterranean could be spared despite a well-clouded sky. It snows above 1800 to 2200 meters in the mountains.
Fluctuating temperatures
France is affected by oceanic air with temperatures a little above seasonal averages, punctuated by cool spells. On Wednesday, a plunge of maritime polar air is expected, bringing temperatures down. Wednesday and Thursday morning, a few frosts will return to the plains before a new rise in the mercury on Friday due to the return of ocean air.
