Taxis are in action this Monday, December 2 in Marseille and Bouches-du-Rhône.

After the departure of their three convoys, kilometers of traffic jams formed on the motorways and “all entrances to the L2” were “closed in the A50 towards A7 direction”, the prefecture even specified this morning.

Taxis demonstrate on the highways

Impressive traffic jams formed this morning following three taxi operations. The convoys left from Plan de Campagne, from 8 a.m., to take the A51, A517 then A7 towards Lançon.

From Valentine, from 7 a.m., the convoy entered the A50 towards Marseille, then the A7 towards the Lançon toll. The L2 for its part reopened at 9 a.m. From Grand Littoral, finally, from 7 a.m., the convoy took the A55 towards , then the A7 towards .

In addition, the junction of the Grand Littoral and La Valentine processions, at the Vitrolles tunnel, had a strong impact on access from Marseille to Marseille Provence airport (), between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m.

Sectors to “avoid”

“The installation of a filter barrier on the Lançon-de-Provence toll in both directions should have a strong impact on traffic times,” specifies the prefecture.

It invites users “to anticipate or postpone their movements” and to “avoid the sectors indicated above and favor alternative routes (A55 / RN 568, bis de Sénas (RD7N), avoidance of Marseille by A52 / A8) and to remain cautious when approaching congestion points”.

Health transport reform

Taxi drivers are still very angry against the health transport reform, which, according to them, will cause a reduction in their remuneration. Mileage rates should in fact increase from 1.60 euros/km to 0.94 euros/km.

This Friday, some demonstrators mobilized in front of the CPAM in the 9th arrondissement, in front of which tires were burned as a protest.
