Franco-Georgian footballer Georges Mikautadze was robbed at his home by armed men as he returned from a match with Olympique Lyonnais.
According to the Actu.fr platform, Georges Mikautadze was the victim of a robbery at his home on Sunday, a few hours after Olympique Lyonnais' victory against OGC Nice (4-1) in which he participated. The 24-year-old Georgian international was reportedly threatened by “hooded and gloved” men, one of whom was armed.
The individuals entered Mikautadze's home, located in Chassieu (Rhône), and allegedly stole various luxury items, including watches, before fleeing. The loot would range between 150,000 and 200,000 euros. Earlier in the day, Mikautadze came on and played 19 minutes of the Lyon match at Groupama Stadium.
Born and trained at OL, Mikautadze made his mark at FC Metz before returning to his favorite club this summer, for a sum estimated at 18.5 million euros. The Georgian international (35 caps, 16 goals), starter at the start of the season, is a substitute in the shadow of Alexandre Lacazette and has only scored 4 goals in 17 matches.
