Nine women from the cinema industry accuse Gérard Darmon of inappropriate behavior, sexist insults and non-consensual gestures on the set of several films. The actor, aged 76, completely denies the accusations, but his provocative response does not fail to provoke a reaction.
The affair broke out this Wednesday, November 27, with the publication of an investigation by the media Politis. According to their revelations, nine women, professionals in the cinema industry, denounce “inappropriate” behavior and “humiliation” on the part of Gérard Darmon on the shooting of six films, between 2018 and 2024. The testimonies relate a “permanent climate of ‘insecurity’ established by the actor. The accusations range from sexist insults to non-consensual physical gestures, including propositions of a sexual nature.
One of the complainants, who was 19 years old at the time of the events, accuses Darmon of having given her “strong kisses” against her will, on the set of “You are young, you are beautiful” and of having uttered insults after she refused his advances. “Hello female dog, would you rather I call you female dog or little slut?”would have launched the actor.
Questioned by Politis, Gérard Darmon completely denied the facts with which he is accused. According to the media, the actor would have quickly “diverted his remarks to the area of insult and threat”, before refusing to answer the specific questions which had been sent to him. When asked to react to the accusation of calling a young woman a “female dog”, his reaction was provocative to say the least: “Yes, female dog, of course. I must have told him that, it’s likely. But did I say ‘female dog’, simply, or ‘female dog, go get fucked by a dog’? Or did I said ‘come suck me’? What did I start with in the insult?”
At this stage, no complaint has been filed against Gérard Darmon.
