Mohammad Rizwan comes to the crease

Shafique was in good touch, hitting a stylish boundary off Sikandar Raza, while Ayub kept the scoreboard ticking with smart strike rotation. Despite Faraz Akram’s tight spell offering no freebies, the Pakistan openers had laid a strong foundation before Zimbabwe broke through.

Mohammad Rizwan said, ‘We are going to bat first. The pitch is same as the last game and it might become difficult in the second innings. The way we are giving chances to young talent. We have an eye on the Champions Trophy. We are going with the same team.’

Craig Ervine, the captain of Zimbabwe says, ‘We probably would have bowled first. It has been quite hard to read the conditions. There was not a lot of cricket played in the last game, so the pitch won’t change too much. It is always going to be a mental game, what happened on Tuesday is in the past and you don’t want to dwelve on that too much. We haven’t beaten Pakistan in an ODI series, it is an amazing opportunity to create a bit of history. We have two changes.’
