Denouncing the numerous attacks against his party during the electoral campaign, Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko insisted that “the State failed in its mission to guarantee the security of Pastef activists”. This statement from the leader of the Pastef Party, showing his dissatisfaction with the way in which the security of his caravan and that of the other cells of his party was managed, caused a lot of ink to flow, thus leaving room for doubts about the relationship between the head of state and his Prime Minister. The duality debate between the two politicians arises.
But the Executive Director of the NGO 3D reassures those who already fear a possible duality between Diomaye and Sonko. According to Moundiaye Cissé, it will not take place.
“Why talk about duality between Sonko and Diomaye? Duality exists when the President suspects his closest collaborator of eyeing his chair. However, everyone knows that President Diomaye Faye’s wish is for Sonko to occupy the presidential chair after him. He makes no secret of it, therefore, there will be no Duality between the two,” says the civil society actor.
Let us recall that during an interview given to our colleagues from Walfadjiri, the former mayor of Ziguinchor mentioned that he got along very well with the President of the Republic Bassirou Diomaye Faye.
