The Baar district registry office is under the management of the Canton of Zug until further notice. This after an employee reported himself.
Irregularities at the civil registry office in Baar ZG!
An employee of the Baar district registry office reported himself. The reason: irregularities in office. The canton of Zug announced this on Monday.
The public prosecutor’s office is now investigating. It is unclear what exactly led to the voluntary disclosure and whether criminal offenses were the reason.
No further information could be given. This is for reasons of privacy protection and because it is an ongoing investigation.
However, the orderly operation of the civil registry office will be ensured, said the canton of Zug in a press release. The canton – more precisely the Directorate of the Interior – will take over the administration until further notice.
The government council decided this last Friday, November 22nd. In addition to the voluntary disclosure, a lack of human resources is also a reason for the canton’s “necessary” decision.
“The supervisory authority will ensure that the tasks and certifications for these communities can continue to be fulfilled. There are no restrictions for the population,” said the canton of Zug.
