China announces visa exemption for Moroccans – Le7tv.ma

The Chinese Foreign Ministry announced the expansion of its visa waiver policy to nine countries, including Moroccofrom November 30, 2024 until December 31, 2025. This initiative aims to facilitate travel between China and these nations for various reasons.

Holders of ordinary passports from Morocco, as well as those from Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Malta, Estonia, Latvia and Japan, will now be able to enter China without a visa for tourist stays, business trips, family visits, cultural exchanges or in transit. The maximum authorized length of stay will be extended to 30 days, compared to 15 days previously.

An initiative to strengthen international trade

At a press conference, the spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lin Jianexplained that this decision is part of a policy aimed at strengthening trade between China and beneficiary countries, while stimulating international cooperation. This program, implemented on an experimental basis until the end of 2025, will be regularly evaluated to maximize its effectiveness and impact.

A strategic cooperation framework with Morocco

This announcement coincides with the official visit of the Chinese president, Xi Jinpingin Morocco, where he was warmly welcomed by the crown prince, Moulay El Hassan. During this meeting, President Xi reaffirmed China’s commitment to strengthening its cooperation with Morocco within the framework of theBelt and Road Initiativeas well as in the Sino-African and Sino-Arab cooperation forums.

This decision represents a new step in the strategic rapprochement between Rabat and Beijing, highlighting the growing importance of Morocco in China’s international partnerships.

The visa waiver will not only facilitate economic and cultural exchanges, but also strengthen the bonds of friendship between the two nations, opening new prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation.
