Lhe directors of basic free education schools are “deeply concerned” about the measures announced by the MR-Engagés government of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation (FWB), the College of Directors alerted on Monday. The lack of consultation with the stakeholders concerned is also pointed out.
The College of Directors points in particular to the establishment of a test in primary 3, the freezing of free school fees and the qualification reform desired by the Minister of Education Valérie Glatigny (MR).
“We are particularly worried about basic education students who are the first to be affected by these changes and whose educational foundations are thus weakened,” denounce the school directors. “These decisions call into question the future of our education system and risk compromising the success of all students. We call on the competent authorities to engage in constructive dialogue with all education stakeholders. »
The College of Directors therefore wishes to know the government’s roadmap and its working methodology. “Political decisions must be made in the best interests of students and not to the detriment of their success,” he concludes.
Minister Valérie Glatigny is currently under fire from both education unions and organizing authorities for her “lack of consultation” prior to the announced reforms.
