Sixers Bell Ringer regular season standings:
Jared McCain – 7
Tyrese Maxey – 2
Paul George – 2
Guerschon Yabusele – 2
Kelly Oubre, Jr. – 1
Joel Embiid – 1
After the Philadelphia 76ers won their first game in regulation on Friday vs. the Brooklyn Netsthey would be unable to carry over any momentum into their Sunday matchup against the LA Clippers.
The Sixers would surrender a 17-5 Clippers run to start the game, a run capped off by a “foul” by Tyrese Maxey on a James Harden three-point attempt.
The Clippers would be able to extend their lead to up to 19 thanks to incredible shooting from the field (52.2%) and from deep in the first half (43.8%), while the Sixers on the other hand, would again struggle to shoot at an average pace from deep (21.1%). Los Angeles did not cool off, and pushed their lead to 31 points after outscoring the Sixers 29-12 through the first eight minutes of the second half. The Sixers as a team would do little to halt the Clippers’ offense, as they would concede 64 points in the paint and 19 second-chance points.
Even when finding open shots, the Sixers were not hitting them, which has been a common theme all season. The wire-to-wire victory for the visitors left the Sixers looking helpless and devoid of energy for 48 minutes, and the final score would reflect such, falling to the red hot Clippers 125-99. Still, let’s try to find a Bell Ringer in this mess of a basketball game.
Tyrese Maxey: 17 points, 4 assists, 4 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 turnover

Although Maxey did not fill up the stat sheet, he did make three of his six attempts from deep, putting together back-to-back games of strong shooting following an 0-for-6 performance from three-point range against the Grizzlies on Wednesday. Since his return from a hamstring injury that saw him miss six games, Maxey’s minutes have increased game-over-game. Against the Clippers, Maxey was tasked to move a ton for 30 minutes, and he got through the game with no issues. In a game like this, that’s Bell-Ringer worthy.
Justin Edwards: 4 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 6 minutes

If you turned the game off before the fourth quarter, I do not blame you. But you might have missed Philadelphia native Justin Edwards make his NBA debut with about five minutes remaining in the game. He would provide a spark during his limited run. He found Ricky Council IV on a transition layup after grabbing a long rebound and pushing up the court. He finished a tough layup after corralling a loose ball, and put down another layup after attacking the defense in transition. Edwards missed his only three-point attempt, but his lefty shot looks good, so do not sleep on the Kentucky product. Getting some NBA “firsts” out of the way for an undrafted rookie is worthy of Bell-Ringer consideration.
