The Nantes-Le Havre meeting, counting for the 12the day of Ligue 1, Sunday November 24 at the Beaujoire stadium, was interrupted for half an hour in added time of the second half, when Nantes supporters tried to invade the pitch while Nantes was trailing 2-0 .
Supporters from the Loire stand threw projectiles onto the pitch and broke a first security perimeter by entering the pitch, provoking the intervention of CRS and security agents.
The match referee then interrupted the match for several minutes, before sending the players back to the locker room, calling a “crisis unit” to determine whether the match should be definitively interrupted or whether the few remaining minutes should be played in added time.
“We brought together a crisis unit and, after listening to all the people we spoke to, it was decided to resume the meeting after a warm-up time for the players and ensuring that the security conditions were met”announced the delegate of the meeting, after about half an hour of interruption.
Tennis balls and toilet paper thrown onto the court
The players from both teams then returned to the pitch, and after a brief warm-up, finished the few minutes that remained to be played.
The supporters of the Loire stand had already briefly interrupted the match in the first half by throwing tennis balls and toilet paper towards the goals of Alban Lafont, the Nantes goalkeeper. They left the stadium and calm returned a few minutes after the match was interrupted.
Nantes has not won in Ligue 1 since 3e day, August 31, and a victory in Montpellier (3-1). The club occupies 16e place in the championship, that of play-off player, which it owes only to the late defeat of Angers at Auxerre at the same time (1-0).
