The canton of Jura would say no to the widening of motorways, according to partial results relating to 16 municipalities out of 50. It would also refuse the three other objects submitted to the vote.

The people would reject the widening of highways by 62% of voters. The canton would also refuse uniform financing of health services and the two objects linked to tenancy law.

Will the left and tenant circles narrowly win a victory over tenancy law with a double no? This is what is emerging. A quadruple yes is emerging in Aargau for the federal votes on Sunday. After counting 180 municipalities out of 197, the people approved 56% of the widening of motorways and 59% of the uniform financing of healthcare services.

The people also approve for the moment the two projects to reform tenancy law.

According to the anticipated results relating to nearly 95% of voters, Geneva refuses the extension of the motorways as well as the two modifications to the lease law submitted to a vote on Sunday. Uniform financing of health benefits (EFAS) is also rejected.

Today, three different forms of financing coexist for outpatient and inpatient treatment as well as long-term care. The cantons pay 55% of inpatient bills and around 46% of long-term care, via taxes. But they do not contribute to the costs of the outpatient sector, which are entirely the responsibility of the insurance companies, and therefore of the premium payers.

In the future, the cantons will have to pay at least 26.9% for all types of benefits; they will be able to contribute more. The remaining 73.1% will be financed by insurers, and therefore health insurance premiums, regardless of the provider and the place where the services are provided.

The popular vote concerning the six motorway extension projects has not been decided. According to a trend from the gfs.bern institute on Sunday, the result is still uncertain.

According to partial results, Geneva rejects the extensions at 56.4%. The refusal rises to the same level in Graubünden. In Zurich, according to one projection, it stands at 51%.

The six projects are estimated at around five billion francs. Nearly a billion is planned for the Le Vengeron-Coppet-Nyon axis (GE/VD), which must be widened to two three lanes over a distance of approximately 19 km.

The referendum was tabled by the Transport and Environment Association (ATE) and the active-trafiC organization. It is supported by the Greens, the PS and the PVL, as well as around fifty nature and climate protection organizations.

The first results from the municipalities are published. The Aargau municipality of Bergdietikon says yes to the extension of the motorway, by 563 votes to 285. The municipality of Staffelbach also gives its agreement.
