In the columns of Télé-Leisure, this Friday, November 22, the former repeater of the Star Academy, Matthieu Gonet, remembered the strong and complicit relationship he had established with Grégory Lemarchal, emblematic and regretted winner of season 4.
Matthieu Gonet was the former musical director and former coach of the Star Academy, from 2001 and for seven seasons. He therefore had the opportunity to collaborate with a former emblematic candidate from the TF1 crochet TV show, namely Grégory Lemarchal. The much missed young man, who died of illness in 2007 at the age of 23, is still very present in the memory of fans of the program. This Friday, November 22, Matthieu Gonet spoke to Télé-Loisirs about the big winner of the fourth season of the singing competition. He thus remembered the professionalism of the young participant, but also their turbulent but strong bond.
“He worked hard and attended all classes despite his illness. […] But he was also a great messer who had no limits. At the castle, I remember fights over shampoos where we got in each other's faces.” declared Matthieu Gonet with emotion, before discussing the concerts of the Star Academy, post-broadcast of the show, which also brought their share of great anecdotes: “On the tour, he gave me some good ones too. We both played 'I've got you, you've got me by the goatee', except that in fact, the one who lost didn't get a swatter, but a huge mandal.” Having become close and sharing the same humor, they indeed had no limits, as explained with amusement the former Star Academy tutor : “I remember he once came on stage with my hand in red on my face, and both of my cheeks were scarlet. And don't ask me why, it made me laugh so much.”

A singer always ready to get serious again for his fans
Despite everything, Grégory Lemarchal was always able to concentrate, once on stage, to do what he did best, sing and give the audience chills: “But when the show started, everything stopped and he was 100% with the audience, he transformed.” Accomplice with the winner of the fourth season of the TV show, Matthieu Gonet remembered one of the funniest moments of their friendship: “The worst thing I did to him was outside the castle. He had just bought a little car that he loved. It was his first car, he was so happy.” Quickly, he took advantage of her absence to play a slightly offbeat prank on her: “I drizzled it with mustard, olive oil, I brushed it with everything I could, and as I was leaving, I told him: 'Don't hesitate to go look at your car. ' And I can still see him, when I started, running behind my car, calling me names, dying of laughter.”
