The Pyrenees massifs are awake under the snow. In Haute Bigorre, around fifteen centimeters of fresh snow fell overnight. The mountain is preparing for winter.

Snow is returning to the Pyrenees. Yesterday it fell between 5 cm and 12 cm during the night from Thursday to Friday at an altitude of 2,200 meters, reports Météo .

The Hautes-Pyrénées were far from the passage of the Caetano storm but the wind blew significantly. Yesterday evening around 9 p.m., it was measured at 95 km/h at 2000 m altitude. Its speed reached 135 km/h at 3000 m altitude.

The ski resorts offer a wintry look this Friday morning. Not yet enough to consider an opening but winter is gradually setting in. However, the thermometer could rise again as early as next week.

At an altitude of 2500 m, the snow layer reaches around fifteen centimeters on the north slope.

In total, on the north slope, there are around fifteen centimeters of wind-blown snow and around twelve centimeters on the south slope. “On the northern slopes the thickest mantle changes little during the day above 2200 m” note Météo France forecasters in the avalanche bulletin.
