Storm Caetano. Fallen tree, damaged roofs… Nearly 400 interventions by firefighters in Anjou

The violent winds in Maine-et- gave rise to numerous interventions by firefighters this Thursday, November 21, 2024. Numerous falling trees notably mobilized emergency services.

Already on yellow alert for violent winds, Maine-et-Loire switched to orange alert this Thursday, November 21. The squalls and heavy rains intensified in the afternoon. A situation linked to the snow disturbance which is occurring over a large part of northern , under the influence of the Caetano depression.

No injuries

Firefighters were called upon 395 times for interventions related to bad weather and precipitation. Many trees have fallen on the roads, roofs have been damaged, electrical wires torn and objects are threatening to fall… But no injuries have been reported. Of the numerous operations recorded, as of 6 p.m., 184 were completed, 149 pending and 62 in progress. More than 120 firefighters and 40 engines from 30 rescue centers intervened.

Most relief operations are concentrated in the south of the department, south of the axis.
