Pierre Palmade will go to prison after the serious road accident he caused in February 2023.
The court sentenced him this Wednesday to five years of detention, including two years.
When will he be incarcerated and in what type of prison? The highlights of 1 p.m. on TF1.
Unmoved, at the announcement of his sentence, five years in prison, two of which are closed. For these victims, the feeling of having been able to express their pain. “There is no judgment that will live up to what my clients experienced. This is why the sentence does not matter to us. Nothing and no one will be able to redeem the loss of a child,” declared at the end of the trial, Mourad Battikh, lawyer for the civil parties.
Sentenced to prison, Pierre Palmade did not spend the night behind bars. When will he go to prison? He must first be summoned within the month by the prosecutor of Bordeaux (Gironde), where the actor now lives. It is this magistrate who will set the date of his incarceration. The Melun court issued a committal warrant with deferred effect. There is therefore no immediate execution of the decision. “You will very soon be summoned by the Bordeaux prosecutor who will set with you the date and the penitentiary establishment in which you will serve two years of imprisonment,” explained the president of the body. And this summons deadline “cannot exceed one month“, in accordance with article 464-2 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
Even if Pierre Palmade's lawyers appeal this conviction, the actor will have to wait to be retried from his cell. He now has ten days to appeal. But what type of prison will he go to? He could be placed in an area for vulnerable people, perhaps in solitary confinement. There, he could follow his treatment for his drug addiction and also participate in support groups. As soon as he enters prison, a request for a modified sentence will be possible, for example an electronic bracelet or semi-release. And what damages? At the hearing, no decision was made on this subject. A second trial will determine how much Pierre Palmade will have to pay to his three victims.
