The singles did not succeed for them this week. After the early elimination of Félix Lebrun as soon as he entered the fray on Wednesday, Alexis Lebrun was also eliminated, Thursday, November 21, in the round of 16 of the WTT Finals in Fukuoka (Japan). In the competition which brings together the best table tennis players of the year, the eldest of the Lebrun brothers was beaten 3 sets to 1 by the Chinese Lin Shidong, world number 2.
Alexis and Félix are not saying goodbye to Japan just yet. The two brothers will compete in the doubles semi-finals, facing another French pair. The Montpellier residents qualified earlier in the day in doubles, beating 3 sets to 1 (6-11, 11-8, 15-13, 14-12) the Japanese pair Tomokazu Harimoto and Sora Matsushima.
They join in the last four the second French duo, Florian Bourrassaud and Esteban Dorr, their training partners in Montpellier. This duo beat 3 sets to 2 (9-11, 8-11, 11-8, 12-10, 11-6) the Hong Kongers Ho Kwan Kit and Lam Siu Hang. This 100% French confrontation ensures the presence of a French duo in the final of this last competition of the season on the international circuit.
