On Thursday at 8:48 a.m. an updated winter storm watch was issued by the National Weather Service valid from 4 p.m. until Friday 4 p.m. for Bradford County.
The weather service adds to expect, “Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations of a few inches in valleys with some higher elevations potentially seeing 5-9 inches under heavier banding.”
“The strong winds and weight of snow on tree limbs may down power lines and could cause sporadic power outages. Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday evening and Friday morning commutes,” adds the weather service. “Monitor the latest forecasts for updates on this situation. Persons should consider delaying all travel. If travel is absolutely necessary, drive with extreme caution. Consider taking a winter storm kit along with you, including such items as tire chains, booster cables, flashlight, shovel, blankets and extra clothing. Also take water, a first aid kit, and anything else that would help you survive in case you become stranded.”
