The Free Series goes from 110 to 130 GB
This is a new feature that is not very old since the update was carried out discreetly last night by Free. As is often the case with its mobile plans, Free has decided to modify the Free Seriesthe package on which he has the most leeway. As a reminder, it has committed not to change the price of its €2 plan and Free 5G plan by 2027.
This time again, it is the Free Series which has seen its characteristics change. But this is good news for future new customers, since its data has been increased. While previously, this package included 110 gigabytes of mobile data, since yesterday, it includes 130 GB of data, i.e. 20 gigabytes of additional mobile internet !
Without changing price
The considerable advantage of this update, beyond the increase in data, is also and above all the fact that it does not increase in price. We could indeed have expected a price increase but this is not the case. Free has instead focused on a stable price, since the subscription remains at the same price: only €8.99/month for the first year (then the Free 5G package at €19.99 afterwards).
The only change was therefore made to the package data since it still offers the same functionalities with:
- Unlimited calls in France
- Unlimited SMS and MMS
- Free’s 4G/5G network
- 25 GB of internet in 4G from Europe and the French Overseas Territories
How does this new offer compare to the competition?
It's hard not to compare this new Free Series package to competing plans. But we can already spoil it for you: this increase in data is ultra beneficial for Free which positions itself as a leader in 5G with 130 GB of data for €8.99/month.
Thanks to this increase in mobile data on its plan, Free becomes in fact much more interesting than many of its competitors. For its part, B&YOU is limited to a 100 GB 5G offer for €8.99 and RED by SFR is banking on 120 GB in 5G for €7.99 per month.
But despite this big effort, this Free offer does not dethrone YouPrice, Prixtel or even Auchan Telecom which offer:
- 200 to 250 GB for €9.99 at Prixtel on the SFR network
- 150 GB on the Orange network for €8.99 (without 5G)
- 160 GB on the Bouygues Telecom 5G network for €8.99 at NRJ Mobile
