“I think our father didn’t want to make my brother and me champions: he wanted us to grow up and be happy”confides the ex-handball player. Their father was a great international goalkeeper, from the Yugoslavia team. He participated in the 1981 Moscow Olympics. “The father’s journey with age, I realize that I wanted to imitate him, surpass him, make him proud”adds Nikola Karabatic. “He made me want to be the best in the world.”
