During the Council of Ministers on November 20, 2024, the Prime Minister welcomed the renewed plebiscite of the Senegalese people for the project of systemic transformation of the country carried by the President of the Republic on the occasion of the early legislative elections.
This aspect discussed in the Council of Ministers is “inelegant”, according to Zahra Iyane Thiam.
“What inelegance and what bias on the part of President Bassirou Diomaye Faye!
Never in our political history has a political party been congratulated in the Council of Ministers after an election. Since the Head of State could not help it, elegance would have required him to congratulate, at the very least, all the lists in the running. This would have been all the more appropriate since, out of pure Republican courtesy, the majority of the lists had congratulated the winning list,” tweeted Zahra Iyane Thiam.
