The wind blew particularly hard during the night from Tuesday 19 to Wednesday 20 November 2024 in the Alpes-Maritimes.
The phenomenon should last until Friday before calm returns on Saturday. The forecasts.
105km/h recorded in Nice
According to Météo Côte D’Azur, a monthly wind record was beaten last night in Nice with 105 km/h. The old record (97km/h) dates back to 2021, according to the platform.
A fairly strong west wind is sweeping around ten departments this Wednesday. The Alpes-Maritimes are part of the list. Wind is expected across the entire territory, placed on yellow alert for violent winds from 6 a.m.. It should be up at 6 p.m. Wind is still expected on Thursday.
The North and West facades are the most exposed. Météo-France announces gusts of 85 km/h this morning in Saint-Etienne de Tinée, 80 km/h in Saint-Auban and 75 km/h in Saillans. The wind should slightly lose intensity as the day goes on, despite forecasts of gusts of 65km/h in Seillans and 70km/h in Saint-Auban.
Rainy phenomenon
The wind seems to chase away the clouds. Today, the sky is cloudy over the southern half of the Alpes-Maritimes. In the North, residents will benefit from the sun. Temperatures remain cold: 3°C forecast this afternoon in Colmars7°C in Guillaumes, 8°C in Tende compared to 16°C in Antibes, 17°C in Menton and even 18°C in Nice.
The rain will return tomorrow, Sunday and Tuesday, and will sign a real drop in temperatures tomorrow afternoon. The people of Nice will probably lose 7°Cthe Mentonnais 8°C in Menton and the Antibois 5°C. A few snowflakes are expected in Colmars.
Météo06 predicts that Friday will be “certainly the coldest of the week”, announcing an average Iso 0°C around 500m altitude (-5° to -12°C around 1600m, felt -16°C).
