It is indeed the Minister of Foreign Affairs Jean-Noël Barrot in the photo, and not Benjamin Haddad as the caption indicates.
POLITICS – Confused for their hair resemblance. A photo of Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot was used to illustrate an article on his European Affairs colleague Benjamin Haddad. The latter did not take offense, he even joked about it on X this Tuesday, November 19.
“It was bound to happen eventually Jean-Noël Barrot”wrote Benjamin Haddad, sharing a screen capture showing the face of the head of French diplomacy and the following caption: “Minister Benjamin Haddad decided to organize (…)”. Benjamin Haddad added a smiley face that bursts out laughing, proof that he takes the situation with humor.

Both men work in foreign affairs within the government. Benjamin Haddad is under the authority of Prime Minister Michel Barnier, while Jean-Noël Barrot is at the head of the Quai d'Orsay. But it is rather for their physical and especially hair resemblance that they were confused.
Jean-Noël Barrot did not react
If Benjamin Haddad had fun with the situation, Jean-Noël Barrot has not (yet) responded to this misunderstanding.
Benjamin Haddad, 39 years old and from the Renaissance party, joined the government last September to take care of Europe. He replaced a certain… Jean-Noël Barrot (MoDem) who was therefore promoted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Previously, the latter had already held ministerial functions in the government of Élisabeth Borne, but in Digital.
