Over the past few days, several drivers have tested positive for alcohol or drugs following accidents.

On Friday, at 3:30 p.m., three vehicles were involved in an accident in Costaros on the RN88. The driver of the first vehicle involved, a Nissan “Interstar”, a 31-year-old man, tested positive for narcotics. In the second car, a 59-year-old woman was extricated and taken to hospital. The third driver, a 22-year-old man, was unhurt.

At 7:30 p.m., the gendarmes responded to an accident at Retournac, Craponne road. A witness wanted to help the driver but he seemed to want to return home without waiting. He was brought back by a friend. Going looking for him, the gendarmes found him… leaving a bar. The military were unable to carry out the screenings but noted a lack of insurance and technical control.

During the night from Friday to Saturday, Aubazat, the police discovered an damaged vehicle. A man got out of the car from the driver's side but promised police that he was not the driver. His problems walking straight and speaking did not speak in his favor. The blood alcohol test was positive with a level of 2.16 grams per liter of blood.

Sunday, at Lamothe, around 3:15 a.m. a Peugeot “208” ended up hitting a tree in the Fontannes-Brioude direction. The 58-year-old driver tested positive for alcohol. He was taken to Brioude hospital.

And Sunday evening at 7:30 p.m., an accident at Aurec-sur- to the “Sauvages” led the gendarmes to think that the driver was under the influence of alcohol, with a strong smell of alcohol in the passenger compartment. The driver was taken to hospital where a blood test would provide the answer.
