Farmers continue their mobilization throughout France, now with the Rural Coordination which intends to undermine the hegemony of the FNSEA and increase the pressure by talking about “blocking food freight” or “paralyzing and starving Toulouse”.
The president of the Gers Rural Coordination had promised in October to “paralyze and starve Toulouse” if the government did not respond to the demands of farmers. This Tuesday, November 19, on BFMTV, Véronique Le Floc'h, the president of France's second largest agricultural union, confirmed these comments: “If it lasts, it could happen,” she declared. “Our actions are getting tougher because it is a question of survival, because, precisely, we want a future for our young people.”

Towards a “blockage” of food freight?
While the Rural Coordination is holding its annual congress until Wednesday in Vienne. The union assures that it is ready, if it does not obtain satisfaction, to “block food freight” from November 20, first in the south-west of France.
Opposed like other agricultural unions to the signing by the European Union of a free trade agreement with Mercosur countries (Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay), it also demands reductions in charges.
At the same time, the troops of the majority FNSEA-Young Farmers (JA) unions remain mobilized for the second day in a row – – a program modeled on the two days of the G20 summit in Brazil, to mark opposition to the signing of this trade agreement.
