Since Monday, November 18, Morocco has been affected by a atmospheric depression located in the Atlantic Ocean to the west of the Canary Islands, leading to the arrival of humid currents from the ocean, explains Lhoucine Youabddirector of communications at the General Directorate of Meteorology. This situation gave rise to rain or sometimes stormy showers in the southern provinces, the reliefs of the High and Anti-Atlas, the surrounding regions, the Souss region as well as the south-east of the country.

This Tuesday, November 19, the Atlantic atmospheric depression will move slightly towards the northmaintaining unstable conditions with cloudy skies leading to rain or sometimes stormy showers in the regions of the Rif, Saïss, the phosphate and Oulmès plateaus, the Atlas and its neighboring western regions, as well as on the northern plains and from the center, continues our interlocutor.

Of the scattered rain are also planned for the southern provinces, the southeast and the east of the country. Some falls of snow are expected on the peaks of the High Atlas. Furthermore, relatively strong winds are expected with local sandstorms in the Atlas, the southeast and the north of the Saharan provinces. A drop in daytime temperatures is also expected.

Between 6 a.m. on Monday, November 18 and 6 a.m. on Tuesday, November 19, the rain levels recorded by the DGM reached 16 mm in Settat, 13 mm in Agadir-Inzegane, 9 mm in Khouribga, 8 mm in Oukaïmeden and 7 mm in Taroudant and Salé.

A relative improvement in the weather is forecast for Wednesday, November 20, with partly cloudy to partly cloudy skies. A rising temperatures will also be felt.

Here are the weather forecasts established by the DGM for the Next 10 days :

Tuesday: Rain or showers sometimes stormy

• Thunderstorms over the Loukkos, the South of the Gharb, Chaouia, the High and Middle Atlas and the surrounding western plains.
• Often cloudy weather with rain in places on the Saiss, the Rif, the interior of the southern provinces, the Phosphates and Oulmès plateaus, the Souss and Chiadma.
• Temporarily cloudy weather with light rain over the Tangier region and the Western Rif.
• Temporarily cloudy weather over the rest of the Atlantic plains, the Oriental and the southern coasts between Tarfaya and Boujdour with drops of rain in places.
• A few snowflakes on the peaks of the High Atlas.
• Low clouds and foggy formations in places on the coasts south of Laayoune.
• Maximum temperatures of around 30/34°C in the south of the Saharan provinces, 24/39°C in the Essmara region, 21/25°C in the east of the Mediterranean shore, Souss , the central coasts, the extreme south-east and the rest of the Saharan provinces, 8/16°C on the Atlas, the Rif and the phosphate and Oulmès plateaus and 17/21°C elsewhere.

Wednesday: Stable weather

• Low clouds and misty formations on the northern plains and on the coasts south of Laayoune.
• Temporarily cloudy weather over the Tangier region and the Rif.
• Fairly strong wind gusts over the High Atlas.
• Minimum temperatures of around 04/10°C in the Atlas, the Rif and the Eastern Highlands, 15/20°C in the Saharan provinces and the Souss and 10/16°C everywhere else.
• Daily temperatures rising.

Thursday: Stable weather

• Dense low clouds with misty formations in the morning and at night over the northern plains and the Saiss.
• Stable weather and clear skies across the country.
• Fairly strong wind gusts over the Mediterranean and the High Atlas.
• Daily temperatures rising or almost stationary.

From Friday November 22 to Thursday November 28:

• Slightly to temporarily cloudy weather in the North-West and clear to partially cloudy elsewhere.
• Weak stormy instability over the High Atlas towards the end of the week.
• Passage of high-altitude clouds over the north and center from Sunday.
• Quite strong wind gusts over the Atlas and the Oriental.
• Daily temperatures gradually increasing or almost stationary.
