If you managed to thrill with the League of Nations, then you will be transported to the fall of 2025.

The qualification of the French team for the quarter-finals of the Nations League will have a direct impact on its qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup. Indeed, like all the eight teams which will continue their quest for the title in League A, but also like all the others affected by LDN dams and this in all the leagues, the Blues will be transferred to a group of four countries which will compete in six days from September to November 2025 (exactly on the model which has just had place, for example, in the League of Nations). Conversely, those who are directly relegated or promoted, like Israel (in the group), England or Norway, will be placed in groups of five teams which will start from the month of March then June. As for those eliminated from the quarter-finals of League A, as well as all the play-offs, they will have to fall back on friendly matches in June (this is already certain for Belgium or Austria, among others).

Draw on December 13

If the draw for all these clashes in the Nations League will take place on Friday, we will have to wait three more weeks, on Friday December 13, for the draw for these World Cup qualifiers. In fact, while the seeding system has not yet been clearly established for the twelve upcoming groups, it is therefore certain that Didier Deschamps' players will not be able to face the English or the Norwegians.

Only the first in each group will be directly qualified, the second having to go through the new, tricky two-round play-offs, the ones which cost Italy their place. In the event of a disaster, if the Blues did not even manage to finish among the first two in their group, they would still be drafted among the four additional play-off players (sixteen in total) from the best rankings in the Nations League – for the nations having failed in the World Cup qualifiers, therefore.
