The projections of statistician Mamadou Yauck confirm a historic victory for Pastef in the 2024 legislative elections. With 129 seats planned out of the 165 in the National Assembly, Ousmane Sonko’s party wins an absolute majority, marking a decisive turning point in the landscape Senegalese politics.
This massive domination leaves little room for other political groups. The Takku Wallu Senegal coalition, led by former president Macky Sall, would only obtain 15 seats, while Samm Sa Kaddu, led by Barthélémy Dias, would be content with 5 seats. The remaining 16 seats should be divided between Jamm Ak Njerin, The Nationalists and various small lists.

This result confirms the popular momentum observed during the presidential election in March, which had already propelled Ousmane Sonko and his party to the head of the executive. Pastef’s triumph, amplified by its performances in key bastions like Dakar, Ziguinchor, Touba and the diaspora, shows massive support for its program of rupture and social justice.
