The President of the Republic of Senegal, Bassirou Diomaye Faye has just performed his civic act a few minutes ago in Ndiaganiao, particularly in the center of Ndiandiaye.

In his statement to the attention of the public, the Head of State called on citizens and politicians to show serenity and play the peace card. “First, give thanks to God for having allowed us to be witnesses and for a few minutes an actor in this great day of democratic expression. » As we see, the people are going out, exercising their rights, choosing their representatives in the National Assembly. He does it calmly and serenely, in the pure Senegalese democratic tradition. This is why I invited political actors in the electoral campaign to show responsibility to fight a peaceful campaign, knowing that when the day comes, the people would have the same posture of greatness that we know and which is the pride of all fellow citizens, of all Senegalese compatriots, whether they are from here or from the diaspora. Democratic maturity also means responsible actors who confront each other through ideas and programs, who speak to the people in serenity and mutual respect and who leave to these people the fundamental right which belongs exclusively to them to choose its representatives or leaders.

For the rest of the day, I once again invite voters, whether they are ordinary citizens or candidates, whether they are at the head of the list or invested, to show serenity, to fully play their peace card and to receive the popular will which will be expressed through the ballot boxes through a serenity and acceptance which play the role of democracy. There will always be winners at the end of this election, there will also be losers. Ultimately, it is the Senegalese people who will be winners and we all have a moral obligation to preserve this appreciation and this judgment that this international community gives us and which is in the process of remaining in the sense that we constitute that we owe to all price perpetuate generation after generation,” he said.
