You know his face but maybe not his name: Ryan Eggold, from “New Amsterdam” and “Blacklist”, is one of the stars of “Cross”, the new police series from Amazon.

Prime Video put Cross online a few days ago, its latest detective series, which follows the paper hero imagined by James Patterson. Carried by the actor Aldis Hodge, it sees this police officer bereaved by the death of his wife tracking down a wicked and dangerous serial killer.

Here's what we thought!

Viewers will most likely recognize actor Ryan Eggold in the cast. At 40, the actor has a busy career. Some discovered him in 2013 on TF1 thanks to the police series Blacklist in which he played Tom Keen, the husband of the heroine played by Megan Boone. A character who reveals himself over the seasons by playing a double game…

A role that goes against the grain

Five years later, he convinced NBC to give him the lead role in a medical series. He played for 5 years in New Amsterdam where he played Dr. Max Goodwin, the director of one of the oldest hospitals in the United States in New York.

It aims to reform neglected facilities by getting rid of bureaucracy in order to provide exceptional care to its patients. But his battles will be multiple, since he must win back his pregnant wife from whom he is separated, and also fight on a daily basis against the cancer which is gnawing at him…

An experience that will allow him to be particularly popular and in demand. The proof with his latest project, Cross, in which Eggold even tries his hand at changing hair to break away from his past roles.

His character Ed Ramsey is presented as a charismatic and influential man, who leaves no one indifferent. He will prove to be a strong opponent for Alex Cross. Ryan Eggold surprises and detonates by playing a manipulative, vicious and particularly dangerous character. The antithesis of what we are used to seeing about him.

Cross is 8 episodes to binge on Prime Video right now.
