Coupe de France (7th round). Ruffiac-Malestroit FC (R2) – FC Lorient (L2): 0-2
The pre-match already signaled the start of the party for the many Ruffiac-Malestroit supporters. The green tide was there to push his team at heart. “We hope that they will hold on as long as possible to vibrate because it is historic for the club,” enthused Maxime, the stadium entertainer. And he gave of himself throughout the meeting, haranguing the public with “Allez les Blancs”, a little annoyed at hearing a little too much of the Lorient kop. There was also a lot of emotion from Thierry: “We are very proud of them, they had an exceptional journey. Seeing so many people is moving. Everyone wanted Lorient, it’s the perfect draw.”
Further away, two players' mothers fervently applauded the great actions. “We’ve been following them since they were little. It's a real group of friends. Until 3-0, we tolerate,” they joked. However, the four divisions which separate the two clubs left little hope and Lorient did the minimum to qualify and participated in the celebration with great respect. The supporters were obviously not disappointed and they all praised the great performance of their team. Maxime Michel, the coach of the Greens, was very satisfied.
“It’s still great. We will have existed and ultimately we were not in that much danger. We were smart in what we did. The excitement gives more wings than usual. The lap of honor all together was fantastic.” Dylan Beunel remembered the beautiful image offered to their supporters. “Before the match we would have signed straight away for this result. Even though the pressure increased on the ground, we respected the plan in place. “It will remain good memories because we have no regrets.”
