The Red Devils are struggling with many injured players. National coach Tedesco has intervened and brought another player to the Young Devils.
On Saturday, the Red Devils trained for the last time in Tubize, before traveling to Hungary to face Israel. Romelu Lukaku, Arthur Theate, Maxim De Cuyper and Amadou Onana were absent.
Later, the national team itself announced that the four, who were all in the starting line-up against Italy, would not travel to Hungary. A big downer.
Moreover, Romeo Lavia also has to drop out because he is said to be unfit. The midfielder did not make any minutes against Italy, but hoped to be ready for Israel.
According to Het Laatste Nieuws, Domenico Tedesco has intervened again after the new wave of injuries. He would have called up Norman Bassette.
Bassette was allowed to substitute for about 20 minutes on Friday for the Young Devils, who lost painfully 0-2 against the Czech Republic. He currently plays for Coventry City in England. Last season he played for KV Mechelen.
