Almost everyone had already prepared for a penalty shootout when Ryfors from Davos stormed forward again and dashed in front of the ZSC goal. The Swede missed the goal, but the puck found its way behind the goal to Tambellini, who fed the onrushing Dahlbeck for the 3-2 winning goal. With 0.8 seconds left in overtime, the Davos team secured victory in an intense and increasingly toxic game.

This meant that the ZSC Lions had to admit defeat again in the Swiss Life Arena for the first time after 25 wins. They suffered their last home defeat against Kloten (1:3) on January 20th.
