Two new complaints against Patrick Poivre d'Arvor. These two complaints call into question the prescriptionbecause the former 8 p.m. presenter could be considered a serial rapist. This is the second time that these complainants have filed a complaint.
The first complaints from these two women denouncing rapes committed in the early 2000s had been dismissed due to statute of limitations. But today, they choose to continue their legal fight with complaints with the creation of a civil party, supported by their lawyer, they contest the limitation period.
They hope for a PPDA trial. In all, Around fifty of them accuse the ex-presenter of rape or sexual assault. A judicial investigation is open at the Nanterre court. Indicted for three facts at this stage, PPDA denies everything, and proclaims his innocence.
In these complaints, which RTL was able to consult, it is always the same argument to exclude the prescription: the seriality of crimes, by relying on case law, that is to say the court decisions already rendered, notably in the Scala case. The Sambre rapist was convicted in 2022 for 54 rapes and sexual assaults, the oldest of which date back to 1988.
The courts decided to lift the statute of limitations because these were serial rapes, with the same modus operandi and the same perpetrator, as in the PPDA case.
