In a press release, the Assistance publique-Hôpitaux de Paris (AP-HP) explains that the measure applies to professionals as well as to “any person over 6 years of age upon entry into spaces in which vehicles circulate. patients.” The latter, whether hospitalized or outpatient, must also wear a mask “when they leave their room, in the waiting rooms and when they move around the hospital”.
This decision comes as the Ile-de-France region has entered the bronchiolitis epidemic phase, according to data from Public Health France. The AP-HP also mentions “the active circulation” of Covid-19 even if the data shows “a trend towards stabilization of most indicators”. The Assistance publique-Hôpitaux de Paris specifies that “these recommendations will be updated to take into account the evolution of winter epidemics”.
