This is very sad news relayed this Tuesday by our colleagues from the Journal de Saône-et-Loire. Julien Ridet, originally from the neighboring department, more precisely from Curtil-sous-Burnand (he had been a municipal councilor in the commune), lost his life on November 7. He was 50 years old.
A thrill seeker
HAS Ugine (Savoie), between La Clusaz and Albertville, he went to practice his passion during a paragliding course. According to information received after his accident, his sail slipped under his feet. In distress, the latter then tried to trigger his emergency parachute, which became entangled in the sail.

He had played volleyball in Chalon-sur-Saône
Julien Ridet until then lived in Vitrolles (Bouches-du-Rhône), very close to Marseille, and was director of the Maison pour tous. For several years, this great sportsman had played at the Chalon-sur-Saône volleyball club. He played until Nationale 3, at the beginning of the 2010s.
The funeral of Julien Ridet will take place this Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at 2:30 p.m., in the church of Curtil-sous-Burnand.
