That evening, on the RN 165 (in the -Lorient direction), near Brec'h, in the Auray region, five victims were treated by firefighters after a collision between three cars. The driver of one of the three vehicles involved was arrested by the gendarmerie and taken into custody.

Driving under the influence of alcohol

In an irregular situation on French territory, the thirty-year-old was driving under the influence of alcohol and without a license. Prosecuted for involuntary manslaughter, the accused will also be judged for involuntary injuries with incapacity not exceeding three months. He will appear according to the procedure of immediate appearance with a deferred deadline, on December 18, 2024, before the Lorient court, confirmed to West the public prosecutor of Lorient, Stéphane Kellenberger.
