An anonymous declaration of support for François Hollande shocked the first secretary of the PS. He made remarks described as “sexist” against Marine Tondelier.
The left is preparing for 2027 and it's already war. The next PS congress should be held in early 2025, although the date is not known at the moment, and will make it possible to appoint its next general secretary. While part of the PS, supporting Olivier Faure, is campaigning for an alliance of the left, although nothing is yet certain regarding LFI, others believe that the party will be able to succeed alone given the good scores made in the European and legislative elections. . In addition, the return of François Hollande to politics, as a deputy in the Assembly, gives hope to some faithful.
We are therefore witnessing a fratricidal war between the supporters of Olivier Faure and those of François Hollande. One of the latter gave an anonymous interview to Libération, Monday November 11, in which he tackled Marine Tondelier in a manner described as “sexist” by Olivier Faure.
The Greens would be the door open to the rebels
Because, still according to this anonymous support from the former president, an alliance with the Greens would open up the possibility for the Insoumis to be part of it, which is unthinkable for many members of the PS after the failure of the NUPES and the disagreements within the NFP. “Tondelier does the job for LFI, she has a green jacket but her underwear is red”attacks this same person in the columns of Libération.
A more than inappropriate attack, if not openly sexist, to which Olivier Faure was quick to react on X: “The courageous anonymous person will be able to find his place in the Pantheon of sexism. Not that in the Socialist Party which is a party which has made feminism its fight”writes the first secretary of the PS, adding: “Dear Marine Tondelier, my apologies for these completely inappropriate comments that nothing excuses.”
The leader of the Greens also reacted to this attack on X: “I had no idea that internal debates at the NFP would one day revolve around the supposed color of my underwear.” In addition to the “sexist” form, the leader of the Greens denounces a statement which “makes no sense.” “The Ecologists are Ecologists. They are determined neither in relation to rebellious France, nor in relation to the Socialist Party”she explains, adding that environmentalists defend “a unique candidacy for 2027, not just to avoid the worst but to offer the French the best. To improve their daily lives and to protect their tomorrows. This does not really make us a party that does the job in the service of the FI 'Nor a party 'in the service of François Hollande', certainly.”
