Asked by CNEWSDavid-Olivier, member of the Crif steering committee, demanded rapid sanctions: “the competent public prosecutor, the justice system and the competent court must quickly render a legal decision commensurate with this hatred that is being carried”he urged, believing that“being elected from the republic does not allow everything… certainly not to be a bearer of hatred”.

Ismaël Boudjekada was sentenced, at the end of June 2024, to a fine of 20,000 euros and 3 years of ineligibility for advocating terrorism. He appealed his sentencing decision. The elected official can therefore still exercise his mandate. He was also the subject of another report to the courts, at the end of October, for having qualified the leader of Hamas, Yahya Sinouar, killed by the Israeli army, as a hero.
