Sporting pillar euphoric with victory in Braga: “Unbelievable”

O Sporting beat Braga, 4-2this Sunday, November 10th, in a game counting for the 11th round of the Liga Portugal Betclic. In the meeting that marked Rúben Amorim’s farewell as technical command of the lions, the lions’ team struggled to beat Carlos Carvalhal’s team. See HERE how the match went.

In Minho, the arsenalists came out stronger and took the lead in the 21st minute. After a cross into the Lions’ area, there was confusion between El Ouazzani and Zeno Debast. The Belgian defender tried to ease the ball, but ended up sending the ball into the feet of Ricardo Horta, who scored the first of the match. However, the Leonine goalkeeper suffered a foul during the play that Luís Godinho did not see.

The miners’ second came just before the break. In the 45th minute, Bruma unleashed on Ricardo Horta, with the Portuguese international shooting towards the green and white goal. Franco Israel still touched the ball, but the ball ended up in the back of Sporting’s net. In the second half, in the 59th minute, following a corner, St. Juste jumped higher than everyone and shot at Matheus’ post. Hidemsa Morita took advantage and reduced it. At 82, Morten Hjulmand shot hard from the edge of the area and tied the score. Until the end, Conrad Harder scored twice and gave the Lions three points.

With this victory – the 16th in 18 meetings this season –, The green and whites remain at the top of the Liga Portugal Betclic, with 33 points, and are in the fight to win their second championship. Second place is occupied by Porto, which has 27 points, but one game less. In third place is Benfica with 22 (two games less).
