Goals: Núñez (20e) et Salah (84e) for the Reds
On the Red again pour Liverpool, winner of Aston Villa (2-0) at Anfield this Saturday evening. Taking advantage of Manchester City's new defeat at Brighton earlier in the day (2-1), Arne Slot's men had no trouble getting rid of the Villa's. Darwin Núñez was the first to shine (1-0, 20e)by concluding a counter launched by Virgil van Dijk coming out of an opposing corner, and extended by the run of Mohamed Salah who, thanks to his fall caused by a stroller from Leon Bailey, allowed the Uruguayan to score alone against to the goal.
If Amadou Onana then gave Caomin Kelleher the save of the evening, with a well slammed header (37e), it was the Reds who had the last word. Helped, here too, by the poor dismissal of Diego Carlos in midfield, Salah only had to rush towards Emiliano Martínez and place his ball high in order to make the break (2-0, 84e). Liverpool are a solid leader, five points ahead of Citybefore the duel between the two teams, on 1is next December.
